Aviation is my passion. Before taking lessons toward my private pilot license, between 2017 and 2019, I built RC model airplanes. These airplanes are built from kits, using foam board. Each model takes about 25 hours to complete. In the process I learned a lot of valuable lessons:
- Building the airframes
- Selecting and installing RC components
- Adding custom features, including landing gear and decorative parts
- Testing, trimming, and maidening the airplanes
- Learning to fly at a local RC airfield
- Maintaining and repairing the models, especially after crashes
